RE: turtle wax ICE
Pretty much it does not last .... on the hood it only beaded for 2 weeks ... I had Collonite that beaded for a year ...
it's great for a quick shine but its protection will not last ... |
RE: turtle wax ICE
I bought one too and I don't believe it is worth the price as it is very hard to tell if your vehicle has it or not. I would not buy it unless you are just like me who has to try it to believe it.

RE: turtle wax ICE
I bought the ICE Clay stuff and it blew hard. I have clayed several cars with a Mother's Clay bar and the spray they recommend and I have had great success. Their clay liquid product is to be avoided as it does nothing but cost you money and time.

RE: turtle wax ICE
The guy at Oreilly Auto said that turtle wax sucks across the board, including ICE. I've been using Turtle Wax carnauba just because I thought it was a good basic wax. I really don't feel it holds after a couple of washings. It is a bear to put on also. I'm looking for a replacement.
Mother's or MacGuire's, he says. |

RE: turtle wax ICE
I just waxed my Rover with Turtle Wax Ice this past weekend. Had a hell of a time avoiding smears and streaks upon removal. Especially on the Hood. Must have waxed that porrtion of the truck four times! One good point was that you can get it on all of your components regardless of finish and it won't leave any white residue. I don't expect it to hold its shine long though, as is the case with most Turtle Wax products. I have had good results with 3M conditioners and polishes in the past. But they are a lot of work to remove and have that pesky residue.

RE: turtle wax ICE
True waxes and polishes will always have the residue. In the case of waxes the residue is just that: dry wax. In the case of polishes, typically, the residue is the abrasive ingredient. If a product boast "No Residue" it is often because the chemical uses an alternative such as silicone to bring shine and or protection.
Insulator Wax (Collenite #845) is in fact a terriffic product. We've sold Collenite products for years and have been very pleased with using them as well. I have it on my 96 Disco and it has held up for the entire summer so far which has been one of the hottest on record. I highly recommend it. That is unless you don't like easy on/hard off products.
