94 disco 1 no start after flood.
 

Well long story short I got stuck offroad in a rut. Then the rain come and now my truck won't start. It has fuel and it has spark... What else should I look at or dry out. Passenger side had water up to the side pocket. Just to reiterate truck cranks strong but does not start. I verified fuel and spark already. May do a compression check later just to check.

Water on ECU in that plastic box under hood on passenger side fenderwll?

Would that cause it to cut out and not start back even with fuel and air? The water was pretty high on that side before we could dig the ditch to drain some of the water out. I'll check

Ok... No plastic box... Fuse box that's about it. The water line is up to the bottom relays behind the passenger kick panel. Where is the ecu?

Edit: found found the location. Looking at the water line the ecu should be fine tho there is water up there on the inner fender. I imagine it just rolled in from the hood area. Do I pull the ecu to dry or hair dryer?

disconnect battery, unbolt and unplug, carefully open it to see if it is wet inside, not sure I would want to apply any heat source to dry it, you could have soaked a couple of sensor plugs or the relays behind that pass side kick pannel

So with spark and fuel both the ecu can still be the culprit? All the bottom row of relays were under. But everything seems to be working.

how do you know the injectors are firing?

Because there's spark at the cap and rotor. While I didn't test all of them I did test a few and they had power. The injectors are letting in fuel because there's a strong odor of gas after a few failed starts. May have fouled the plugs while it was in the water. My thinking is, fuel and spark = start no matter what the computer thinks.

Check fuel pressure at test valve on passenger side fuel rail, needs to be 32-34 PSI. The wet ECU could mess with injection timing.

Touché. I'll check tonight, also could the crank position sensor be give the truck trouble?
