95 Disco heads and valves - now vaccum leak?

I have been having a stumbling problem for awhile and I knew I had a leaky head gasket so I pulled the heads and had them decked and the valves done. Put it all back together and it fired right up with still the same stumbnling problem, now it seems things are getting worse, it starts hard, idles rough and if you give it any throttle it chokes out. I have gone through the ignigition and it seems to be getting good spark and fuel seems to be good. So I am thinking a vaccum leak or intake air leak somewhere (I have been looking and nothing obvious yet) does this seem like a likely path to look down or any other suggestions?

Thanks Mike

I have had good results using a propane plumbers torch (unlit of course) to track down vacuum leaks. Turn the gas on low and move it around any suspected leak areas and listen for changes in rpm. For godssakes do it outside and don't blow yourself up if you try it.

Does it sputter or backfire out the pipe or through the intake? I had an issue once where the valves were floating due to a clogged oil filter pressure relief valve and too high oil pressure. That was a bear to figure out.

Hard starting with good spark smells like fuel delivery to me. Did you check pressure at the rail?

actually just checked pressure at rail and it is holding 37+/- for at least 5 mins. Plugs are dry though after cranking with no start, so I am going to start going through injector circuit.

That is a good link - I printed it out about a year ago and refer to it all the time.

On a 95 doesn't the distributer act as the cam sensor

Can anyone tell me about the fuel injector readings, with the injector plug unplugged from injector and with the key on I get 12v on both pins which does not seem right to me, I know the ecu is supposed to ground the injector to make it fire. also when cranking engine I dont seem to be getting any pulsing on either pin.
