ABS = annoying..yeah

So I keep trying to do the blink method for the yellow ABS light.
1. Idk which relay is the exact one, so I unplugged all of them one at a time and did the rest of the instructions. (I checked under the passenger side dash and I found all the relays. The metal thing holds all of them)
2. Put a paper clip in the OBD1 Connector. (The Blue One)

Looks Like This:

O_O
OOO
(paper clip in the top two)

3. I turn the key to position 2 (insert key, go up two clicks)

4. turn the key to position 1 then position 2 (x3)

5. wait for the abs light or something to blink at me!

6. FAIL!

So can anybody tell me if I am doing something wrong?

OKDiscoGuy knows more about it than I do.
Send him a PM and ask him.
Once you get it figured out please post back on here for someone else who may search for this exact same problem in the future.

Pull the 30A ABS pump fuse from under the hood.

Why do you hate ABS?

One reason to hate it on D1's is that if can fail in such a way that leaves you without brakes. I call it "death mode".
Applying your brakes only find that you're driving right past the stop sign in to traffic isn't fun...exciting, but not fun.

x2. Has happened to me personally. I pulled the wiring to the ABS itself and the "normal" brakes worked better than the ABS ever did.

When my wife almost rear ended a school bus the ABS pump fuse came out.
That was over 2 years ago.

Calebbo-what happens when the DI ABS "fails" is that it will not let you apply the brake pedal. You press the pedal and it pushes back against your foot and makes a ratcheting noise.
The noise is normal for a working ABS system, it makes lots of noise so you know its working.
However when a wheel speed sensor fails, or the ABS modulator goes bad the ABS system will over work for no reason and you will not beable to stop.
Usually you can correct this by completely letting off the brake pedal and then trying to stop again.

I've learned to just keep my hand on the e-brake.... the first mile or so of driving is always a trick, never know if the ABS wants to work that day.
