Alarm disconect

Does anyone know if my 98 disco will run properly if i disconnect the alarm? I already pulled two fuses but still getting a rapid, muted sound from horn? I would appreciate any advise!

There are methods to bypass the wiring in a number of spots (like the "spider" in some units). But - the normal problem comes when the battery is dead, you raise the hood, jump it off, and alarm wakes up and decides you must be a thief. Some owners avoid that problem by disconnecting the hood switch.

At a certain point the alarm wants to disable the ignition.

"some owners avoid that problem by disconnecting the hood switch."

Can I just unplug it?!

Mine is that way. Don't want daughter having these kinds of problems. If someone wants to pry open the hood, etc., that's what insurance is for. These switches are "normally open" and ground upon operation. So in effect there is no electrical supervision of the cable or the switch, as long as it does not short to ground.
