Build Ideas-5 inch lift-37's-electric assist-solar panels-Flexi's-bead lockers-4.6
Wasn't sure how to post this so I will just do it anyway...
I need to get to 5 inches in lift. I'm at 2 now with the Armyrover method of spring reversal/donor truck build. My thoughts are 1 more inch with the spring chalks and a 2-inch body lift. Or possible Terra-firma 3 inch lift with 2" body. I know many don't like the body lift but I just don't get why it's such a big deal. I really like the idea of having room for future pathways between the frame and the body. I am going to be doing the Flexi fender upgrade, this I really have no thoughts about other than to get it done: I am really thinking about bead lockers but to be perfectly honest it's only because I think they are badass. I doubt I would ever need them: I am definitely going with a 4.6 from Turner Engineering but I need IHScouts to remind which one it is I need. [I have your original responses somewhere back in private messages but it would be easier if you could just respond back. :) I like the idea of this company electric incorporated with gas. Not sure it is feasible but am looking at it: The reason I want to be able to get to 37-inch tires is because of the surplus military market for those tires and the fact that the smallest start at 37" Pull out solar panels. I like it! There are fender upgrades I am going to do but not till I get the thing lifted. |

Thanks for the reply....So 35" are about as big as I can get away with without all the above mentioned...yes? I have plans for many of the upgrades mentioned but not the different axles.

What size tires are you on now? I ran 35's on my D1 with no body lift and minimal trimming. |
I'm running 265/75/16 or 31.6. The trimming must have made a huge difference because my 31's still rub a little bit with the 2-inch lift when I turn tight.

Probably rubbing on the radius arms
