carputer / onboard computer - ODROID + Android
Hi,
I had a CarPC (aka Carputer) a few years ago and pulled it. It was a small microATX system tucked under the driver seat with a flip out touch screen monitor replacing the radio / cd player in the dash. It ran TinyXP, and had RoadRunner on it as the front end with GPS, movies, music, etc and wifi built in.... I am toying with a custom Android system build using the touchscreen and an ODROID motherboard (think Raspberry Pi size)... I will update my ramblings as the build progresses ;) :disco: |
I have no idea what you just said.

He had a computer based entertainment system in his truck. He took it out and is installing a newer, fancier one.

that's a great idea. i would make sure it is wired in straight to the battery with proper fuses, of course. this way you will have something to keep you busy every time the rover breaks down and you are waiting for a flat bed to haul you away.

Too bad your truck isn't OBDII, you could tap into the ECM or MegaSquirt the motor.
*Edit* 97...... duh. For some reason I thought you had a 95...... |

Would you and anyone else share some images of your computer based installs in your Rover.
I am also interested in what people are using to connect to the Internet besides their cellphones, like small routers and modems with embedded wifi? T.I.A. |
This would be perfect -
