In the interest of common decency, I will forgo that picture.
Got it replaced. Collar was loose until I tightened the bolt that holds the shield to the collar. Last couple of turns tightened everything up. Runs fine during rain storms and going through puddles. The wiring was bad. Very bad. About an inch above the connector it was very brittle and about an 1/8" to a 1/4" inch of insulation was gone. I gently pulled it to the top of the engine, cut out the bad bits, found some suitable replacement wire, slipped heat shrink over everything, soldered a bit, and applied heat to the wrap and it shrunk. And Bob's your Uncle.
