D1 Towing a P38
Mate of mine is in a bind. He is picking up a "new" P38 and originally had a Truck/Trailer lined up to pull it home with. That person backed out.
Do you guys think my '96 Disco could pull it? I'm not too sure on the towing capacity of this thing. Judging by my highway overtaking power, I'd say not much. lol |
I should also note, it is an electric brake trailer.
|
How far and how many hills?
|
Its about 400 km each way give or take
|
I would do it.

Good enough for me, you guys have had more seat time in your D1's than I have.
Cheers |
Just take it slow and plan on plenty of extra time to stop.

The trailer w/the p38 on it will take care of the slow part for him :D |
It may actually be cheaper in the long run to just have it shipped if that is available in your area, especially if your Discovery is not 100%.
If your Discovery is ondeed road worthy for such a TRIP, it could certainly be a great memorable ROAD TRIP!!!! TAKE ALONG A GOOD VIDEO RIG SO YOU CAN CAPTURE AND SHARE THE ADVENTURE. I would also pack a full set of tools and spare wheel bearings, make sure your rig is ready, otherwise, it could turn out pretty bad. You don't want to kill yours trying to bring his new one home. |
