i have a 99 disco 1 and i believe my fuel pump went out i was driving to the store and got out and when i got back in and tryed cranking it it wouldnt start i didnt think nothing of it and i took a can of starter fluid and sprayed it in the manafold and bamm it fired right up then died so i knew i wasnt getting no fuel so i turn the key off and undone the back side of thge fuel filter and turn the key on and off no fuel shooting out so i assume its the fuel pump so i took it out and tested the "double plugs" on the top of the assemly and they have fire to both plug that rules out electrical problem so my real question is !!!!! what model fuel pump can i buy at a auto parts store that will take the place of the factory one and work the same ????? i was told a 80's model chevy pickup pump will work ? is there any truth to that ? or where can i buy one i need it asap im without my ride help thanks !!!! and if you just wanna call or text me its 8632541147 yhanks a bunch

I used one from an '87 Chevy Astro van, but many models will work.
Be aware, the part you get from the parts store is just the pump. You'll have to reuse the housing. Its a very good idea to change the pump sealing ring and the reataining ring(if its in bad shape). But if you're in a hurry you may not be able to get those parts in time.
