DISCO I - Brake Lights won't turn off
#12
Update on Brake lights
Great words gents-
Ok - I found the switch and it is working fine. It appears to be the "width of 2 coins" or <1/4" away from the pedal shaft to actually turn off the lights.
So - a while back I replaced the booster, it came with a spacer /gasket. Is it possible that the spacer/ gasket is too thick on the engine side of the firewall? As I recall the gasket was closer to 1/2" thick.
On the pedal shaft, there are 2 holes to connect the shaft to the booster actuator via a cotter pin. One hole pulls the shaft way too close to the firewall, the other (the one I'm using) is just a bit shy of the switch.
Perhaps, there are 2 thicknesses of gaskets / spacers and Atlantic British sent the wrong one? Should I remove the gasket / spacer? But then it might be too close to the pedal (perhaps using the 2nd hole I described above would correct?)
Thoughts - there's not enough wigglation at present.
