Default Disco I Replacement Radiator

Hey guys, looking for a replacement radiator for a Disco I. I called Rovers North, they don't stock them anymore as the price has gone up a bit and demand is down. Their supplier in England apparently also doesn't have any. Atlantic British doesn't seem to have any on their site, but maybe I missed something. Just googling "1998 Land Rover Discovery Radiator" I get lots of options, but they seem sketchy... Any confirmed good new replacements? I read in a different thread some people indicated there may be aluminum replacement options available... Help!

Good question. Let’s hope so.

My first choice is to always re-core an OE Radiator ( ESR3687 for an AT/ ESR3688 MT )

But if that is not an option for you then just get a NISSENS #64029 from RockAuto or @ any parts place.
They are $285.79 @ RA.

Lucky8 also has the NISSENS Rads, and it might save you some $ after shipping is added from a RA order.
Plus you support a Board Sponsor.... BONUS!!!

AB, as do most LR Parts vendors still stock these bits as well. Double check your part numbers when you search.

EDIT:
DONT GET A ALUMINUM ONE FROM EBAY - THEY ARE JUNK

there are also alum ones on ebay. -
But for these alum ones you will have to purchase separate fittings for the trans and oil cooler lines to get a proper seal - and other light fab to secure the shroud and upper mounting points

I can confirm over a year and 10k miles with a 4 core aluminum rad I got on ebay - no issue
s

If any fabrication is beyond you - go with one from RockAuto.
You may want to do your pump and fan clutch too if they are old.

You're all beyond helpful. I have a sneaking suspicion my local radiator shop will charge me enough for the re-core that it would make sense to just buy a new radiator instead, especially because I can get a new Nissens for $285... I think I read somewhere re-cores can be between $250 and $500, which seems a bit silly, unless there's something I'm missing about why you'd want to keep the old tank (old parts like old parts better than new parts). The guy quoted me $165 just to rod the thing out. I can't help but think an all-aluminum replacement would be better... Here's one on eBay for $230, seems to fit my vehicle pretty specifically (I have the 4.0L). However, they make no distinction about it fitting an automatic/manual. What's the crowd's wisdom on this? Thanks again for the help, guys. You're all aces.

EDIT - THIS ALUMINUM RADIATOR TURNED OUT TO BE CRAP - DONT BUY

the ebay ones for 230 are 3 row - but I believe those and the 4 row I have are all made from the same factory in china somewhere
I believe the manual and auto both use cooler lines so there is no diff

remember the aluminum ones will require some fabrication and patience

attached are some pics of what to expect

Look up Will Tillery - he usually has tested original ones.

Folks have had problems with the aftermarket ones with plastic side tanks - they can drip in freezing temps.

So I checked this out, they seem to be a pretty good deal, especially because they're OE radiators... However, they don't seem to have one for the 1998 model year. They have a radiator for the 1994-97 here, but don't have one for the 98. It's the same part number as the OE radiator for the '98, ESR3687, does anyone know if there's some weird non-descript-yet-important difference between the radiator on those model years?
