Finally pulling the heads today. Whats the best way to check for a slipped liner/cracked block without pulling the whole thing out and getting it pressure tested? and what else should I check/look for while it is torn apart?

pulled one head and saw this in one of the valleys. What could cause this type of wear, or is this normal?

Thanks

Not sure I see what you are referring to. I haven't pulled apart the intake on a LR yet, but I've seen cut-outs machined like that on other engines before. Is it the same by all the lifters? Or just those two?(if that is what you are referring to)

The cut-outs are what I am referring to. It is only in this area. I was wondering if this is a cause of concern.

Thanks,

Allen

Are you referring to the cut outs on the block surface in back of the lifter? If so I would say these are machining marks and as you can see the machine work on these blocks is nothing pretty.

This is what I was referring to. I just wanted to make sure. That is the only area that I see such marks and wanted to make sure since I already had it apart.
