Disco starts, runs for 1 second, dies

I recently replaced all the power steering hoses on my 96 Discovery. It ran great before I started the project, but when I went to start it up after tightening the last hose clamp, the weirdness started. It will start up right away, run for about one second, and then it just dies. No odd noises, it acts like it is getting shut off electrically. I have hooked a code reader to it, but I'm not getting any codes, and the check engine light is not on.

I've checked all the electrical connections on the air intake, and they seem to be OK from a visual inspection. There is a sensor on a line connecting to the radiator immediately below the power steering pump that could have gotten banged around in the process, but it looks OK visually.

Does anyone have any idea where I can start with this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Unplug and re-seat the connector for the MAF.

From RAVE:

As there is no default strategy, failure will result in the
engine starting, and dying when it reaches 550
rev/min, when the ECM detects no MAF Sensor
signal. The fault is indicated by illumination of the
malfunction indicator light (MIL) on North American
specification vehicles

( I know you said no light, but maybe).

measure fuel pressure at test valve on right side fuel rail. Should be 32-34 PSI. Could be multi-function relay on fenderwall.

That sensor on hard line is the temp sensor for tranny fluid.
