Discovery 1 wont start after it got wet
On sunday i went offroading. i went through a mud hole pulled out to wait on a friend and it just died on me. its a 1999 discovery series 1. when i try to start it theres a clicking noise by the passanger side footwell and the injectors click but it wont turn over. i dont hear the fuel pump prime either and theres no pressure at the rail. but if i shift into neutral it will turn over but no start. i cant figure out whats wrong i reset the inertia switch and all my fuses are good.

How deep did you go, how long was it in the water, and how long did it run once you where out before it stalled out on you?
check make sure the grounds and connectors for mud/water/crap contamination and clean em up as necessary. id pull open every harness i could get my hands on and clean em up and reseat, if not dirty mayby somethin just pulled loose. any codes/dash lights come on? maybe crank po. sensor harness etc? |
The puddle was probably six inches deep at most it wasn't in for too long and it ran for about thirty seconds after I got out. Where are the grounds I'll check those.

Did you get water on your ECU, if so you'll need to remove and dry it out.
