Fuel Pump not activating
Ugh
So, I backed the rover out of the garage and shut it off. Strapped a canoe to the top of it. Try to turn it back on, no sound from the fuel pump. Cranks, but of course it doesnt start. Checked current at the pump connector when key is turned to "on" and it hits .1 amps. Fuse is ok. Check the current at the fuse and it is also .1. Battery was low (I think I have a drain), so I charged it and re-checked. Same results. Please help :( |
Probably irrelevant to the issue, but I bought the fuel pump 4 months ago from AB and have maybe 100 miles on it.

Bad relay is my answer.
Just for poops and giggles you reset the inertia switch right? |
Ive pressed the inertia switch about 46 times throughout the troubleshooting process :D
The relay would be my thought too, but I thought that was downstream of the fuse? Just to make sure I tested this right... I put the multimeter on mA and put the leads in the fuse connector. Turn the key to on, and check the reading? |
Unscrew the bad light bulb, screw in the new light bulb.
That us as far as my electrical knowledge goes. |
Try fuse #6 under the hood - I didnt know it was a new fuel pump before I diagnosed it dead in the PM
And if that is the problem then you get to figure out what caused it... The REAL problem :) |
If fuse #6 is the 15A fuel pump fuse, then yeah its fine. Thats also the spot I tried testing with a multimeter and wasnt getting any current.

Would any of those relays under the drivers seat have anything to do with this?
