1999 Discovery I SD Sunroof stopped opening
Hi All,
My Sunroof used to open religiously but now it doesn't open at all.
My issues started when my boyfriend's daughter used to sit on top of my truck to watch movies at the drive-in and then I realized she had bent part of the track so it would get stuck trying to close so I would have to help it close the rest of the way.
But now it won't open at all and I cant even hear the motor going to indicate that it is even trying to open.
My truck is full of electrical problems (amongst other problems) but it has a good running engine so I am trying to fix all of these minor problems bit by bit.
I am also a DIY (do it yourself) type of person as well so if there are any tips that I can use to try to fix it myself would be appreciated.
Thanks All!

Hi, I only have one sunroof, so it is the front one.
Now that you mention it, I just looked up around my headliner towards the back and saw an area that looks like it was pre-designed to put a second sunroof! I guess I didn't get the fully-loaded one! :-(

Hi Tom, I attached 3 pictures:
1) The spot where my 2nd sunroof looks like it should have been
2) The controls for my 1st sunroof close-up
3) The controls for my 1st sunroof showing more stuff around it.
As you can also see I have a push light put right above the controls because my inside light only works when the door opens. I changed that whole inside light thing with another used one and it still only comes on when the door opens. Any ideas on that problem as well?

That is an aftermarket sunroof
Middle position on light should be door , then there is an off and on
You may end up needing to drop that entire front ceiling console and check power with a meter or test light, it comes down with #2 Phillips screws
Do you have lightup sun visor mirrors? Do they work? Your entire problem could be a bad fuse, or someones bad wire job relating to the sunroof
There is a fuse panel under dash by the steering column, drop that pannel use a coin to turn the 2 retainers 1/4 turn counter clockwise, panel is hinged and drops down, check fuses

Yes my sun visors light up for sure... So does that mean it's not the fuse?
