Holy Codes...and SRS!
 

I just replaced the water pump on my Disco. The battery died after I had it towed because the tow guy left the key in the ignition and I didn't go back out until the next morning. After replacing the water pump and jumping the rover the SRS light is on and flashes intermittently. My cruise does not work, but the horn does. I installed a t/stat yesterday as there was not one. Also, the following codes popped up today. I know I need to replace some O2's and have the ABS serviced. Any thoughts? I'm not looking for someone to do the research for me, but if they look familiar to you, please give me some input. I'm still new at all this. Many thanks!

P.S. The exhaust fumes are fierce, my mpg is terrible, and it stalls going through even a little bit of water...any relation to code issues? (Borla)
P.S.S. The codes were reset last week.

were all those codes active, or was that just stored stuff?

if the battery died i think youd have a random collection of codes stored...

id try clearing and seeing what you get after that now that the battery is (hopefully) good again

Go to the tech section at the top of the page, find the "ABS" thread, read up, ask more questions if you have any.

As for the codes, when was it last tuned up, that means plugs and wires?

Running with no t-stat will cause it to run to cold which will make the exhaust smell bad and your MPG to suck ass.

As for the stalling going though water, take care of the other things first, that one is going to be tough.

Also, O2 codes are set off by mis fires from worn out spark plugs and wires.

Go clear all the codes and drive till new/current codes show up then lets talk about what is wrong.

Since when does a 14 CUX motor pop "P" codes? Hilarious and not a soul caught it.

Sure you have your Disco's birthday year correct, like maybe 96 do ya think?

Water killing motor is probably crank position sensor wires, lost insulation.

You got me there, I never checked her signature, but then again...a '95 does not have a crank sensor...so what year is it?

Indeed, it's a 96. I hadn't caught the signature mistake—thank you. FYI the plugs were replaced within the last 6 months. I'm not sure about the harness, but I'll take a look at it. I'm sure I'll be able to tell if it's been replaced. I'll get the codes cleared again sometime today and repost in a week or so. I looked up O2 sensor prices last night....@$%&*! This rover needs quite a bit of work (so much more I haven't discussed in the forums as of yet), but it's worth it...at least it still is at this point. I do think the previous owner misrepresented the vehicle, but it is what it is. I'm incredibly thankful for everyone's input and advice. Many thanks!

Try Amazon for the 02's. If still shell shocked by cost start with the front two, uppermost, closest to the motor. Then buy lower two when able. It will still pop codes but the uppermost control much more of the a/f trim than the lower. Lower effect closed loop operation but to a lesser degree will you feel a difference than with the uppermost. Please check the crank sensor wires, if in good working order you may need to replace crank position sensor. Download the Rave http://www.landroverresource.com] it's the 590mb file.
