Hose from Charcoal canister, where does it go?

I cannot find the schematics in my shop manual of where this one goes? The sticker under the hood doesnt really help......

It is the hose on the far right, here are the pics:

IF I am not mistaken, it just vents to atmosphere. I asked the same thing years ago when I first got my Discovery. Mine does not even have a hose on that nipple.

One line comes in from the gas tank (for vapors?), the second goes to the little valve(?) looking plastic component, and the third one is the output after the charcoal flitering process I THINK?

Not really up on the charcoal cannister. If I am wrong, I am sure others will let us know.

Thanks Dan.

I just find it odd that it had a hose clamp on the end....to where....dunno?!?!?

wheelgarage 06-20-2011 01:07 PM

bump......where does it vent to???

Found another hose missing a home, will post it later tonight....

Mine, like Danny's, doesn't have a hose connected to the larger nipple and I have no f'n idea where it goes. Did you download the entire RAVE, the 588MB vs of it? If it's not there then it may be time to call the dealer if needed. Are you throwing any codes? I'm not and it did pass smog last year so I'm leaving well enough alone.

I actually have the book and downloaded all the RAVE, but still could not find anything.

Since it did pass smog, maybe I should just forget it.....

I was hoping it would be conncted somewhere in the intake, since it sucks in air.....

Cant wait to see the pic....then I can mark this one off the list!!!!

I was just looking at that yesterday... I have about 3 inches of hose, and then nada. It just seems to vent into the atmosphere.

I didn't want to look too close because I was certain there was going to be something to fix if I started poking around LOL

Thanks Chris!

That hose I have is coming off. t

The third pic is the view of the one hose that runs down the frame, most likely to the tank.
