Leaking rims?

Leaking rims?
About a year ago I had new tires mounted on the stock rims, Coopers I believe. Since then, every 4 days I need to add air to the left front tire. I have had it back 4 times to have it checked out, each time I was told they got it this time.... Currently it drops from 35 PSI to 14 PSI in 4-5 days, and occasionally I see bubbles at the bead. Rims are in good shape, never had this issue until these tires were mounted. tires are a shade larger than stock, 245/70R16 but that shouldn't make any difference (all 4 match) Do I give the tire shop another try or should I go with a tube??

they are supposed to clean the rim when installing new tires. The bubble you are seeing tells me they didnt.
Had this happen on a honda of mine - the best part was I took it back the day after the tire install b/c they didnt install the new valves, then 2 days later took it back b/c of slow leaks - gotta love the service centers nowadays.

I got a good price on these Coopers, guess I know why now... They cleaned the rim again and said that it was corroded and may need to be replaced if it doesn't seal this time. They also didn't have a 27mm socket to take the rims off the truck. They were surprised when I had one in the back of the truck. Really??? maybe I need a new tire shop....

And yes it's possible to have an aluminum rim be too far gone to seal, but with a proper cleaning and some bead seal there should be no worries.
But if they don't prep the rim it won't matter what brand of tire you install.... it will leak.
And I've used Coopers many times with zero issues, but my tire installers are not clowns.
IMHO, I would find a shop that knows the basics of how to mount a tire. These guys skipped the most simple step of not prepping the rim the first time.

I have used this shop a number of times and not had this type of problem with any of my other cars. They claimed the did clean and seal the rims before, and 3 of the 4 rims have not had any trouble. Aside from having the tire removed and doing the prep work myself, I can only hope that this time it was done correctly.
