I am absolutely THRILLED with the difference in mine since cleaning. The screen was totally black before, now it is silver looking.

The CRC spray did not have the little red stray with it so I just sprayed short burst from the nozzle. That stuff chills fingers quickly.

The first three or four burst, black residue was heavy, after a while it was clear. Difference is amazing.

Add MAF cleaning to the list of things to do on a new to you ROVER. I WISH I HAD DONE IT YEARS AGO.
BEST 7.99 I HAVE SPENT ON THE DISCOVERY. CRC MAF CLEANER 7.99 AT AUTOZONE.

It might be a good idea to clean the MAF every time you change the air filter huh?

That is what the can says. I was thinking about extending the trumpet on the front of the air box so it gets fresh air from outside instead of the hot dirty environment from under the hood.

Have you ever seen the Ford Thunderbolt version of the Falcon that came from the factory with the 427 engine? They took out the two center headlights (the Falcon had four headlights) and made them air intakes. Talk about Ram Air Induction.............

They made them in limited quantities as factory drag cars, then Congress outlawed factory drag cars being sold to the general public. I saw one on Horsepower TV. A guy had one that was 100% original and worth a fortune.

My dad had a Country Squire with a Police interceptor 429 in it. I can only imagine a 427 in a Falcon.

I bought a new gas cap because i drove off and left the old one sitting on my bumper and it fell off in traffic. My new one is a Stant brand. It has a statement printed on it to open slightly and let the pressure vent then turn fully to remove. I like to hear it hiss every time I gas up the Disco. To me that says there is no leak in the tank or hoses since it has a strong hiss upon removal.

I was getting a constant P1176 and sometimes a 1174 I think it was. I changed the hoses that go from the valve covers to the intake, new plugs, new wires. One of my wires separated when I unplugged it to change plugs again. Lately, I also got a P308, cylinder 8 misfire, so today, I unplugged that wire and subbed in one of the original Lucas wires that I had held onto and after reset, no more codes at all.

I plan to order myself and our friend in PR new Kingsborne 8 mm wires as my Proline did not hold up. That is the first problem I have had with ProLine parts.

The OEM gas cap is also a Stant brand.

Also Danny there was a guy a while ago who used drier vent duct to make a "ram air" from under the front of the truck.

Better call Paul Grant and get another one. That screen is the last line of defense for keeping debris out of the engine.
