Manual Seats

Can anyone out there tell me if the manual disco seats have an elevation setting?

slanginsanjuan Feb 28, 2012 06:43 AM

feelin a little high in the seat there? can't see the traffic light without dippin?

JamesDisco97 Feb 28, 2012 07:21 AM

Ha! Actually just the opposite.

I'm just sick of messing around with the electrical issues and wanna make sure that with the manual seats I can jack up the elevation. Guess I could shim it up.

they make seat risers for the Defender seats, maybe look at those...you could fab something from there

In the present time, you can remove the cable from your seat motor, and turn it with an electric drill to the comfort setting, and leave it. But electric issues are easy to fix, and you can just swap out the whole seat from the junk yard, for about $25. I could not find a decent driver seat, so I threw in two passenger seats, bolt right up, and the lumbar knob clears the door post. See https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ighlight=seats

I have manual seats (cloth) in my '96 and there is no elevation setting.

Thanks guys. Savannah, is there a secret to getting the cables off the motor? I've turned, pulled, pried and cursed at the things and can't for the life of me figure it out.

Have you tried bribery...?

JamesDisco97 Feb 28, 2012 04:38 PM

It already has all my money....

Chris-bob Feb 28, 2012 04:42 PM

Good point. Are the problems in the motor or the switch?
