Doc, possibly the batt in the fob? Did you change anything lately that would cause a reset?
|
also, what year is your disco? You might want to make it part of your signature, as it will help the community help you.

My Land Rover is a '96 model= I did change out the battery after the keyless entry stopped working= I tried pushing the door locl button 4 times as discribed in the owner's manual= didn't work= light is coming on when buttons are pushed= ?????= I'm a newby LR owner so=???? thanks much Doc Stone |
You've done everything I can think of. Does it not lock or unlock either?
Too bad the 96+ requires a computer to tell the car to learn the remotes.... because the next step might be resync the remote, or replace it and resync it. |
No,
it will not open, lock or start the car= guess I'll just have to use the keys= thanks for the interest= Doc Stone |
start the car? that's not a feature available on a 1996 land rover. It sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm system installed. You might need to check with the manufacturer of the alarm, they may have some steps for pairing the remote with the system.
|
On a OEM FOB: Pop open the remote. Remove the battery. There are three solder connections on the metal clip that retains the battery. Those connections tend to come loose and need resoldering. It sounds like you might have an aftermarket remote though so IDK. Post a pic of it.

I will post a pic when I get home tonite=
yes, it would remotely start the car, when working= thanks= Doc |
There is the problem, it is an aftermarket remote which usually cause problems at some point.
