I know that to be true for DIIs. I would assume the same applies for DIs...

I took the panel off my center window control thing to see if I could see any connectors, harness, ect... and I don't see anything. Was just messing around with the interior anyway not that I would need warmers here anyway. Oh mine is a 1995 with leather. I gotta work on that whole signature thing.

Only true for D2's up to 2003. If you have an 03/04 S series, the duragrain does not have elements.

yea like said before this isnt true for d1's. spike i have not checked an upholstery shop but i cant afford to have my disco off the road for more than 2 days seeing as its my daily driver, would it take longer than that? also if i were to buy these seats how hard is it to install and remove them??

A shop, your looking at a week or better, my guess. Everyone I have ever worked with took at least that long. (Figure taking the seat apart, ordering the supplies rebuilding it etc) Quite a bit of work...

As to removing the current seats and just replacing them... about a 20 minute job.

I do not know how long it would take or how much it would be.
But lets say it takes them 3 days for both seats and it only costs $300 for both, you just saved $300.
A car rental will set you back $150 or so for 3 days.
So now you are into it for $450.
You still saved $150.
Just an idea that I think should be considered is all.
Get out the Yellowpages and start calling around, I'm sure it will be cheaper if you take the seats out and put them back in yourself.

You could go to a junk yard and pull a another bad seat for $50 or so. Then install it in your disco temporarily until they are done restoring your original seats. When it's all said and done you will have new seats in your disco AND a classy new piece of furniture (the junk seat) for the living room or redneck lawn art to make your neighbors jealous!
