Overheating Problem Solved
Thanks to everyone who posted all of the helpful tech tips on the overheating issues. I have finally solved mine.
Three things to correct and you should have it all solved for under $100 bucks. 1. New thermostat $10 2. Verify serpentine belt is routed correctly. Mine was not after water pump was replaced. 3. Replace the fan clutch w/ Chevy part listed in tech sticky. ** One note on the clutch replacement. My fan housing was rubbing the blades so I went with 3/8 bolts @ 3/4" length. Inserted lock washer between the clutch and blade to increase the gap and eliminated the rub. Running like a champ @ 1/2 on the temp gauge with A/C running. Current temp in South Georgia is 100+ with heat index over 110. I'm in heaven even in traffic. Thanks again to all the help guys. Wish I could buy you all a cold one. |
Thank you for reporting back.
Glad all is well once again. |
