Which plugs to buy just to get by from a parts store?
 

My wires on my 96 are sparking and one wire ripped off the boot, I know the 8mm ones are good, but I need some decent ones for the time being. Which plugs and wires should I get from napa, autozone, advance... etc? Autolite, champion plugs..? Thanks

I use napa wires with champion plugs. Thats just me though.

Champion RN11YC4 (aka 322) is closest to OEM, cheap, and widely reported as performing very well. Remember to set your gap.

I need these for tomorrow, where can I find the "322" plugs? Napa, advance or autozone dont carry it

Get the cheapest copper plug you can find.

I have been getting Champion 318 which is a RC12MC4. That is what the Advanced Auto has in their computer for 96/97 DI. They have worked fine for me.

The 11 vs 12 is a heat range, and I do not know the exact difference even after doing some research on the champion site as far as difference in combustion temps etc.

The other portion of the code also determines the wrench size need to install. These are a smaller wrench size than what I was accustomed to. Most of the spark plugs I had ever used were 13/16 socket size, I think these are 3/4 off the top of my head.

But the wrench size is a minor issue, since the thread is the same for both. Thread and depth are the key features along with heat range.

I would avoid the NGK plugs due to an isue I had with the body diameter being slightly larger than the Champion.

NGK Wires or Kingsborne Wires are both good and are very reasonably priced compared to the over 100 dollar ones. I got the NGK's on Amazon. Kingsborne are similarily priced and ranked highly.

Cheap Copper plugs shoul be around 2 dollars each on sale. No need to play 6 bucks each or more for the High Tech Ones.

Anyone by any chance use the E3's plugs yet? I know those are $$$, but I am curious.

I gave my GCV 4-stroke Honda lawnmower a performance tune (lol), and was very surprised on how well it runs on the E3. I am going to install them in my commuter in a month or so, and cant wait to see the difference.

I have the NGK wires for about $40 shipped from amazon. As far as I can tell they are fine.

I have some Autolite platinums from walmart. Also seem fine.
