Default Power Steering Gear Box

I've seen quite a few topics on this, but nothing really definitive that helps me answer my question.

Do I buy a reman'd (is that correct spelling?) unit and put it in - or do I save some cash and replace the output shaft seal (link for reference - steeringbox ).

I'm leaning on replacing just the output seal as I'm 99% sure that's where my leak is...so how much time/money would I waste by just replacing this seal? Reading the how-to in the above link reads as a somewhat easy process (they all are, right?). I wanted to get some opinions on here before I fully decide what to do. Until then I'll just keep the plywood on the driveway.

Cut and pasted from a post I made 5 minutes ago.

"Meridian in San Diego has always been cited as a good source for rebuilds. In fact, I think they do some mod to the bottom seal for the shaft to help with longer life. There'll be a core charge but you will get your money back."

Thanks Paul. Was hoping to find either somewhere local to Denver for a rebuild. Looking at prices I can find a reman'd unit for right at $250. I think that's the route I'm going to take.
