Pulling a trailer

Guys,

Friend has a 14 foot utility trailer we want to use. Anyone see a problems with this from HF:

Triple Ball Trailer Hitch

I have not seen the trailer yet, so I do not know how high it sits from the ground. I did see a short clip about "if your truck is raised.... and drop-down hitches to tow trailer level.

What are you guys running?

Also gotta look at the trailer light issues.

I work at HF and we sell a few of those, never had a complaint and a guy even came in saying he wanted another for his brother.. And I don't advertise for hf often..

Danny, which angle are you asking? Yes we can tow but are you asking about breaking, climbing, will I explode etc? I would have had no issues towing with my d2 but d1 not more than a jet ski. But that's just mine right now.

Oh I'm a moron. Just hit the link for the hitch you were inquiring about. I'll go away now.

trailer without brakes - 1650 pound max, 330 pound tongue weight; drop hitch limit is 3 inch, length of hitch 9 inch, both from pin on receiver. Plus any local laws. All from several places in the owner's manual part of the RAVE. I actually found an OEM owners manual, in spiffy pretend leather cover, while going over one of the dead ones...

Trailer lights plug inside the access plate to the pasenger side tail lights.

Hauling a new 80 HP zero turn mower with snow thrower option? It's bad when your mower costs more than your Disco...

I picket up this one when it was on sale for $40...

Triple Ball Trailer Hitch Mount with Hook

My father in law borrowed it and liked it so much I said he could keep it (he tows WAY more than me and I figure I can use it any time I want.)

I like that it has a recovery hook on it.

I saw someone selling those was it Paul? I would love to find one. I bought a small leather binder that has the Green Oval on it, but it is like one of those old yuppie bibles known as a "Planner" All those necktie wearing "Branch Managers" used to carry them to the "Morning Prayer Meeting" when I worked in Aerospace.

Does anybody need any neckties, I got a few nice ones with zero use for them now. The only ones I plan to keep are the two with scenes from classic 3 Stooges clips printed on them.

Thanks for the specifics SB. I liked the one with the hook on it as well. Caleb, got any discount coupons? Will they be on sale any time soon?

Those hitches work fine, but you could be hating it if you need to have the hitch drop 6 inches to level the trailer.

I don't like the hook ones because I've seen too many people have the tow strap slip off when the line went slack. Not a purdy pic.

Guess I was lucky then. My Disco came with the nice fake leather manual in great condition. Was great to sit in my disco and and read it for the first time. Also came with a bunch of old paperwork, some of it in unreadable handwriting. Evidently it had been taken to British Pacific at one time years ago and outfitted with a very expensive roof rack setup. Damn whoever removed it!

Right there with you Eric, got the manual, a pic in the glovebox of the PO and broken rain gutter trim from where the roof rack USED to be.
