Do like I suggested. Place ramps at opposite tires and drive up on them. It will become abundantly clear what you need to cut. Mainly behind the rear tire. Get a firm and flat piece of cardboard. Cut it into a long slightly curved line. Put it up to the back of the fender and move it around to the position that gives the smoothest transition. Trace the line with a sharpie. Now you have a template for the other side.
How about you come over and do it for me? I'll pay you in donuts and gum.. and icecream over there if you need help deciding lol

Also, gently fold the circled edge/corner up with your hand. Otherwise it will slice your tire when stuffed.

So...first attempt at the camel cut is completed. I might not have taken enough off...but I didn't have time to test it out yet. I will stuff it tomorrow...and depending on how it looks either re-trim...or post pictures.

So...roommate herculined the rocker panels and fender flares on his LX450 and it has me thinking about it with my Discovery again. I know I need to paint the roof still...so I am trying to figure out what I think for both the roof and the rockers/flares.Currently my thoughts are....

- White/Tan Paint on the Roof, Black bedliner for rockers/flares. Pros: decent color combo, and cheaper (roommate should have extra I can buy off him for a discount). Cons: black might not be noticeable enough to add cosmetic appeal on a dark green truck.

- Black Bedliner on roof and rockers/flares. Pros: decent color combo. Cons: heat in the summer, and might not be noticeable enough to add cosmetic appeal.

- Brown Bedliner Roof and rockers/flares. Pros: seems like it would be a decent color combo (it works for trees ), and more noticeable than black. Cons: more expensive (don't have any brown on hand), can't seem to find any pictures of what it would look like going brown/green/brown.

- "Joker Special" (purple bedliner roof and rockers/flares). Pros: having a Batman/Joker inspired truck. Cons: being seen in a Batman/Joker inspired truck.

Any thoughts/opinions? Or, pictures of what brown/green/brown might look like?

I forgot to get a picture last night.

I will be cutting it pretty close clearance wise right now...but based on a ramp test, and rocking it back and forth (while flexed on the ramps), I think it will be OK. Basically I went about 1" in on the body line (the visible body line, not the underneath lines), then up 4" to the wheel well. I will try to remember the picture(s) tonight.

Do you really need to fold them in?

I didn't. I just cut, filed, and sanded....no sharp edges...

You don't have to fold. The point I was trying to make was to NOT leave a Sharp edge/corner. It may not matter much with 235/85's but it mattered on my 265/75's.
