Removing Z110 Transmission Gear Solinoid
I heard that to avoid the inevitable cant move out of park, you can just remove the drive selecting/locking solenoid.
Where is it located? Is it hard to do? Rave is VERY unhelpfull.
I feel this will be ONE step closer to something resembling reliability.

Seems like a drastic measure to eliminate a simple problem. Not to mention removing a safety feature of the vehicle. A brake light switch is cheap enough you can carry a spare and swap it out in a matter of minutes if it really concerns you that much. A better plan of attack is to find what causing the problem rather than start removing things.

Im not having a problem, but hearing all the problems it DOES cause. I just assumed I wanted it out.
What are the benfits of it? I dont care/think anyone will steal it. I wont leave it in drive or neutral and leave the vehicle.
BUT in listening to you guys
I dont really understand what causes it which is why I wanted it out. So if I ever get this problem. Whats the soultion? I hear you have to jump something with some wire, Id just rather not do that.

The shift interlock is so you cant shift from park into any gear without putting your foot on the brake.
It is Federal Law that all cars have them because people were driving through garage doors and over pedestrians.
The "jumper" method is if your brake light switch fails someplace where you cant get a new one.
It is best to carry a spare in the glove box, it is a 5min wont get your suit and tie dirty repair.

I guess i need to learn where this brake switch is because i have no clue. I just wish it was like other vehicles. Where if you dont have the key there is a little button you could push to activate the shifter.
