Ruby has been hit,

Daughter was pumping gas, door was open and an old fella in a lincoln jammed the driver door into the front fender.

Gas station has video if I can post it I will. Our insurance companies are going at it as he claims my daughter opened door while he drove by.

Oh thats BS if she was pumping gas how can she possibly open the door?!??!?!??! There is no way that could happen. Good luck with the insurance. I'm glad your daughter is okay though. Can we see damage to the lincoln?!?!

If it were me, I would go ahead and get the estimate, get the settlement and then buy a door/fender from a recycler and fix it myself.

When I worked at a lab at Lockheed while on a co-op program with Ga Tech, I had a Dodge Maxivan. I parked in the last available space in the lot close to the building and headed in after returning from lunch.

They were moving our classified project out from the high bay where we worked o it and the driver backed right into the rear corner/side of my Maxivan, splitting it from roof to bottom on the seam where the additio is added to make it a Maxivan. The rear portion was caved in.

I got an estimate from the Dodge Dealer where I had recently purchased it. Ga Tech paid the settlement. I drove it to my mother's house that weekend. My brother took one look at it and said "We can fix this ourselves cheap."

He got inside with a 2 by 4 and a hydraulic jack. few seconds later, the metal popped back into place. A tube of white 25 year bathroom caulking was all it took to finish the repair.

Tution and Books were covered for the next quyarter with some traveling and party money to spare.

I do it all the time, I almost never stand at the pump, I update my MPG Tracker app or sit inside out of the freezing cold.
