Clunk when coming to a stop
Hello fellow rovers,
My 96 disco will on ocassion make a clunk durling deceleration. it happens between on slowing from
20 mph-0 mph. (clunking out of 2nd?)
Im wondering how to correct this.
Thinking drive shaft issues
- u joints
- shaft copeing
- suspension
My suspension is fairly tired so i was leaning to braking/suspension compression physics causing this.........
167k new trans and running pretty
235/75/16 Hancook ATM
thanks in advance

U joints look good. I'm very worried that this could hurt my new trans. My transfer case only works in 4high and that's it. I had a tech (over the phone) tell me it could be backlash from a bad dif or transfer case. Do bad drive shafts cause a problem like this?
I really don't want to get stranded and be screwed with an expensive dif repair. I'm just hoping for solution by changing my dif and tcase fluid.
I'd really appreciate any more input. Not really a live with it kind of clunk....
Thanks
