That's a true Disco Ball! Like to know the story behind that wreck.

Completed phase II of the raptor liner. Put my new front bumper covers on, with sweet BLACK LR insignia. Took off the stock roof racks too- permanently.

Replaced the ac compressor clutch bearing, the serpentine belt, and the fan clutch. All easy. The compressor clutch bearing is easy once you get the flower snap ring off. I couldn’t get it with numerous snap ring pliers. Just bad angles. Actually once I took a stout hook and a very very small flat screwdriver I was able to pull and lift it off with no damage whatsoever. FYI the kit autozone sells with the snap ring, shim, screw, etc.... is NOT correct. They do however have the bearing correct and that’s what was important. It’s part # MT2027 for the bearing, made by Santech. Chinese unfortunately, but.....whatcha gonna do....

Default Glass is no match for a windy day... apparently.

The hazards of parking near a construction site on a very windy day. When I went out to check on my car, I was greeted with a shattered back window, with no entry hole. Very strange. I moved it a couple times, thus some of the glass fell out, etc. I knocked all the glass out and get her home, then cleaned her up a bit. Fortunately there was a cheap (cost wise) replacement on ebay, so that's on the way. But driving around with a tarp in the back window isn't exactly my favorite thing to do. The stickers held up very well during the whole thing. Good mark for Rovers North there...

Took it for a drive to ensure it stays all lubed up - achieved 0.0 LTFT indicating a perfect air to fuel mix ratio.

Not bad for a 178,000 mile, 20 year old Land Rover.

THIS is HIGH on my priority list. Do tell, how long it took, any pointers or weird crap- the unexpected, any special tools you needed or wished you’d had but didn’t, any parts acquired to complete besides chain, pump, front cover kit? Inquiring minds NEED to know!!!

There is lots of write ups on the timing chain cover/oil pump. Simply put though. I removed the fan, fan shroud, water pump pulley, and serpentine belt tensioner, and crankshaft pulley. Then I drained the oil and coolant and removed the coolant line to the front cover/water pump. I removed the oilpan after removing the many 13mm bolts that hold it on and jacking my stock height disco up about 5-6 inches by the frame so that I can get the pan over the front axle. I then removed the bolts that hold on the cover, unplugged the oilpressure switch and CPS then slid the front cover off.
I used pretty standard tools and I had everything I need. The bold that holds on the crank pulley is a 15/16 I believe. I am doing all of this again right now because the oil pump is making noises it didn't before I did this. My fault for getting a Britpart oil pump... GDI
You can count on this taking about 4-6 hours based on how prepared you are and how well you keep track of your tools while you use them.
