Tachometer stopped working
Tach started jumping up and own then stopped working any suggestions?
|
Alternater....Its either going bad or your wires are loose on it
|
2x on the alternator...but as above...check the wire connections first...they're a lot cheaper !!

Altenator check your belts and pulleys. Take it to autozone anything below 13v got a bad alt. But before u change it make sure the belt is routed the right way. I had mine routed wrong it worked fine until it got cold and my alt didt have enough juice and my tach started jumping. In my case it was just a bad belt route but the tach prob was direct affect of the alt not having enough voltage. Now it's all good

My Disco's drive belt was routed incorrectly when I bought it. Same problem with my tach. Took me a lot of headscratching and rebuilding of the alternator, then finally replcing the belt before I figured it out.
