Terrafirma medium duty springs? ( tf023 )
Hello,
I have to replace the rear spings. Looking for 2" lift , carrying about 80kg daily and ~150 while traveling. I thought about the terrafirma medium duty on the back and the light duty on the front. What do say? Will it be comfortable? Are tf coils good? Thank you, Saar. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...e81e737d4e.jpg |
Not a fan of TF, I'd run OME instead.
But no matter which brand you choose, or spring rate ( Medium/Light etc ) I would recommend that you use the same spring rate Front and Rear. Good Luck! |
fwiw i ran the setup you are thinking about on my 98, the med duty springs will acuually give you a 3" lift when empty....and you would NEED the +2'' shocks or you'd "top them out" on bumps when empty. If looks are important.....the TF paint sucks and wont last long if you encounter winter road salt...........I have mixed reactions to their shocks.....

Thank you.
I'm currently running the +2" shocks. I don't really mind the color of the springs and we do not have salt here, no snow, maybe 3-4 times a year on the mountains which are pretty far from me :) Are you happy with the comfort of the ride? As for the same spring rate, on the front I have no extra weight, on the back I carry refrigerator, oven, tools, water etc... So it is much heavier. Thank you, Saar |

For my Disco 2 I've got the HD TF springs and I totally regret not getting the TF MD springs.
The HD springs make for a lot stiffer ride even though I have a steel bumpers, winch, rock sliders and a steering guard. |
My reply might be helpful to you on the LRO thread...

I just did the 2" Terrafirma Medium suspension lift on my 97 a couple weeks ago. I have no extra weight yet so the lift is just shy of 3 inches. I measured the center of the wheel well on all four wells before and after. The funniest part of the whole thing was that putting the new springs on actually evened up all four corners. It was sitting really crooked before I did it. Just a heads up, the springs are side specific. The part number on the kit specifies if its driver or passenger side. I am pleased with it so far but I think that's cause my suspension was so smoked that it really improved how it drives, it is stiff but still much better than all the creaking and clunking that used to go down. I found that my upper swivel ball is blown so I have to order that and fix it. I do not have any problems so far but I think that step 2 will be changing the front to a double cardon driveshaft. I don't know about using 2 different spring rates though...
