Thanks for all the help and fun!

Well the Rover went to an excellent new home last Sunday so I just wanted to tell everyone here thanks for all the help with the Rover and the great times she provided over the last several years. Luckily I will be able to see her progress even more and even catch a ride in her on a few wheeling trips. I'll still check the forum from time to time but probably not nearly as frequently. It's been a great run and maybe I'll get another one in the future!

Well that sucks.

I'm going brand new F-150 so a toy will be on the back burner for a while. I'll get something else to tinker with eventually!

Shiftonthefly1 03-01-2015 10:00 AM

I would'nt know what to do with myself in a vehicle I didn't constantly monitor and diagnose.

Might I suggest black.
It will go better with your purse and heels. ;)

I've never owned anything remotely new and I need a truck for practical reasons. Plus the ability to tow 10k lbs makes it easy to go full on retard when I get back to a toy!

calebbo 03-01-2015 10:50 PM

Oh god, why are all the good Land Rover owners leaving? :(

claudio413 03-02-2015 09:48 AM

The douche pool is so deep, it just sucks them in.

Resist, fight the power, never surrender, stiff upper lip, cheerio and all that sort of rot.

I succumbed to a dalliance with a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado, and you talk about a trouble ridden piece of shiot car, it makes the Disco seem downright dependable. The junkyards are full of Cadillacs, though, so parts are easy to get.

CUpgt 03-02-2015 08:04 PM

The douche pool? Really dude? My truck was a purpose built offroad truck and it succeeded at that very well but it wasn't practical for what I need. Talk **** if you want but I bet I've turned more wrenches on a Rover than you will ever imagine, just ask some of the guys that have been here more than 3 monthes. I got a very fair price for the MASSIVE amount of time and money I invested in it so I sent it on down the road. If you don't like it go sit on one.

calebbo 03-02-2015 08:14 PM

I dont think he was being real about calling you a douche. I hope it was a joke at least?

Anywho gimme your mod list CUpgt!!

CUpgt 03-02-2015 08:55 PM

Oh jeez... I'll give you the big stuff
3" Rte Springs, 12" Fox shocks, custom 6* radius arms with slotted bushings, rear a-arm spacer, custom Johnny jointed trailing arms, custom .25 wall Dom steering and pan hard, custom adjustable front upper shock mounts, 35s on 16x8 pro comps, Detroit /TT, Ashcroft 4.12s, Ashcroft rear axles, Rovertracks fronts, HD drive flanges all around, Saginaw p series power steering pump, BPU HD front drive shaft, Rte front and rear bumper, SD rack, stretched the wheel base a couple inches and the list goes on.

Ian's rig was pretty sick , and he did a lot of the Fab not just buying crap and slapping it on

Is an upgraded front DS needed for a D1 with TF HD 2" 235/85 tires and TF HD front with winch? It's hard to get straight answers. I hear a weird sound on uphill climbs and hard acceleration.

Every D1 behaves slightly differently, but you should not need a DC front shaft with that setup. The need for a DC front shaft would manifest itself in the form of vibration and premature wear on the front u-joints.
