Tire Check
Yes, I know, another "Which tires should I get..." post. :)
I have mostly decided on which tire I want (Cooper Discoverer ST/Maxx 235/85/r16), but my main questions are: With an OME 2" HD lift (shocks + springs), will a 235/85/r16 fit without any adjustments (steering stops, etc.)? Will that narrow of a tire be OK with a fully-loaded compliment (roof rack gear + 4 adults)? Cheers, - Chris |
That tire is no narrower than the stock tire on a D1. The width doesn't really have much to do with load carrying capacity. 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks have been known to come with that size tire.

I don't want giant tires; just something that will fill the wheel wells a little better with the 2" lift, but continue to perform fine on and off road with no major mods. |
As far as the tire brand, I like the Cooper. It looks good and the quality seems good. Also, Spike has talked it up a bit and all the reviews I have read support his endorsement.

You'll probably want to do some minor trimming on the back of the rear wheel fenders.
