Ultra Guage, How do you use yours???

OK , so I have read enough about the Ultra Gauge to know it is a very useful instrument.

ALL opinions to me are valid:)

What systms do you consider most important , that you monitor on ur Disco? , and why?

Coolant temp, because the factory gauge is not accurate enough. Plus you can program an alarm for that. After that, any monitored condition you select. Note that oil pressure is not monitored by the ECU, and won't show up on the Ultra Gauge. Some watch mpg and adjust their driving style.

Coolant temp! I've seen my temp range from 175-225 without the stock guage moving. Without the ultra guage my I would have never known the radiator needed to be rodded out. Now my temps rarely excess 190 in 105* temps.

Mine is set on Coolant Temperature, RPM, Average MPG, Intake Temperature, and Ultra Gauge Temperature. I do not bother with the multiple pages, it takes too long to switch page to page

I dont scroll pages unless I have a code and need to try to figure out what is going on.
Here is where mine sits all the time.

You can set the Ultragauge to scroll through the pages automatically and set the interval to however many seconds you want. I'm experimenting with it a little. I can't see needing more than one or two pages anyway.

After losing the engine in the P38 to the dash gauge not showing temp correct I use mine for temp and it found the problem with MJ before I hurt the engine with temp. Cheap Insurance.

Here are pics of my install. I used a very small sliver of the red "permanent" 3M foam tape in the corner of my dash trim piece shown so it is cushioned but the tape isn't visible from either side. It's secure and the buttons are still accessible. The cable is "hidden in plain sight" following the groove in the dash.

I bought it primarily for the coolant temp monitoring, but the GPH gauge helps drive economically on the highway.
