Way too tall for this

I have been searching and searching for a solution to lower the height of my Discovery seat, but have found no definitive answers. Has anyone found a solution? My head nearly hits the ceiling and I have to tilt my head to see out of the windshield. This is not good! I'm pretty sure I have found every post out there about this issue, but no one seems to have an answer. I'm not all that good at welding or I would just rip the thing out and build my own frame to hold it where I want it! (I may just have to pay someone to do just that though). What are my options?

Cut a bigger hole in the roof and install a bubble? Haha.. sorry, without removing seat and doing some major mods like you said, I'm not sure there are any other options. These discos have some of the best headroom I've ever seen, so ... what have you been driving before a disco?

Ford Ranger believe it or not! I'm 6'7'' so it is hard to fit in to anything. My last Discovery didn't have the same problem though. It was the SD model with manual seats. I couldn't imagine that the power option would cut out that much headroom.

Same issue here. My issue is seeing the traffic lights if I'm the first one in line. I just do the head tilt & live with it.

I hate that!

It's good to be short sometimes I guess. You guys would hate driving a military defender. The seat only moves about 2" and most of the height comes from the seat box that the seat bolts to. Also there is a bulkhead behind the front seats so you couldn't move the seats back even if there was more adjustment available.

I hate the head tilt! I'm going to go crippled just driving this thing. The traffic lights are a real killer, Im constantly getting punched by the wife or honked at b/c I'm just hanging out at a green light! Oh well, I guess I'll have to get creative or deal with the bills from the chiropractor. Obviously I'm not going to stop driving the Disco. I'll post pics if I end up getting out the cutting torch!

If the seat could go back further, would that help? I think I recall people flipping some rails around or something on d2 that would let the seat slide back more. I'm not sure if it would work on d1 too.

I used the reflection off my hood to see the lights today. I think it only works on bright sunny days. Add nights to that.
