Default What should I do with it? (beat up disco)

Hello all,

I'm in a bit of a predicament, I need to make room in my shop to work on customer cars so I don't have time for my own stuff :/ I've got a 95' Disco with 160k on it. Body is really rough, and brake/turn/head lights don't work. Drivers floor board is also rusting out. I was offered $300 by a guy that restores Land Rovers. Should I take the $300? Part it out? Just plain scrap it? Keep it?

I hate to see it go, but I'm a busy college student with not a lot of spare cash to throw into another vehicle.

Engine runs suprisinly well, transmission shifts good to. 4wd works (I tested it in the snow yesterday hehe)

And no I did not put the honda civic headlight in it! haha

If I were close by I would be willing to give a few hundred for it. But the cost of shipping makes it prohibitive in that condition. See if he'll go a little higher. Negotiate.

I was trying to negotiate the hell out of it over the phone haha. Would not do one cent over 300 so I said no. I don't want some absurd price for it, just a bit more than that I guess.

I'd like to keep it and make it into a trail rig or something, it's just not the right time for me.

Yeah, if it still runs good, trail rig for sure, why waste money on things like fenders and such.

Trail rig. Think about it. You have a whole second vehicle, 300$ isn't much money and won't get you very much. At the very least you can make way more than that from the engine and transmission.

What I would do with it? Soft top! And wheel the **** out of it. Why's not now the right time? Don't change anything just wheel it

Yeah, I would hang onto it before I let it go for 300. Even if it sat outside under a tarp, just load it down with Dcon to keep varmits from nesting in it.

Isn't the aluminum in the rover worth more than $300? I think what you do with it totally depends on how much time you wanna invest and what your financial situation looks like...

Default $300?

In the "For What It's Worth" perspective, selling a couple key parts (thinking MAF, Fuel Pump or any other motor/fuel sensor) will net you a lot more than $300!!
