If you don't have a distributor, then you will have a CKP sensor, which has it's tip very close to those tabs flying by. There is a gap of one tab to signal the index. Bent tabs or ones broken off are trouble. There was a post about a broken one being welded back on by a skilled welder in the truck. Bent ones have been straightened. On the D2 they use a machined disk, nothing to bend other than the tip of the sensor. Sensor should not have metal fuzz on it either, and be sure every nut and bolt and spcaer goes back exactly like it came off, as spacing is off no spark.
