Window ECU- Help!

I read the other info on here about just pulling the circuit board out of the ECU to check connections, but once I got it loose, I can't work it all the way out past the dashboard frame. It slides about 2/3 out and hits the glovebox frame. I don't want to break it- any hints?

I was able to manipulate mine out somehow. My dad used to say it was all in how you held your mouth. Being part contortionist and part majician helps when doing anything on a LandRover...

Did you drop the glovebox completely open? As in disconnect it and let it swing all the way down.

Yeah, thanks. I finally finessed it out. I don't see any dry solder joints though. Maybe it's a switch. These trucks would be priceless with manual windows, locks, seats,no security...and so on. Oh well, Still cooler than a Jeep.

What sort of problems are you having that lead you to component level repair on the ECU?

Mine had a hairline crack on one solder joint that was not readily evident. Pushing on the component lead made it obvious. Reflowing the solder joint corrected the problem. It is really common.

@Savannah- Passenger side rear window doesn't work. No sounds at all when I press the switch (under the dash or at the door). Pulled the switches and swapped front and rear- not the switch. I read on the forum that the circuit board for the ECU is a common problem and checking/ re-soldering joints may fix. Couldn't see any evident cracks or loose joints and didn't want to re-flow the whole board, so I put it back together. Still no rear pass window.
