Default long-term storage

I did a search and was surprised not to find anything about the steps to take when storing a Disco (or any car for that matter) for a long period of time. This is kind of a corollary to my post about getting a car-tent, and i got some helpful info there but i thought i would be a good idea to start a thread about long-term storage.

What would you do to get a car ready to sit on the sidelines for a while?

Take it to a warm place get a storage unit and pay someone to drive it
once a month,,,,,,,,
I do live in Texas!!
Gas Additive for storage,, air up the tires,,, battery tender ,,
Better to have it indoors,,,,if indoors rat poison ,,change oil before storage.
If outdoors cover seats,, tires and dash anything that the sun will hit.
Don't leave anything in it,,it will spill,, smell or grow.

1-change the oil and filter
2-treat the gas with a fuel stabalizer
3-top off the gas tank with good gas and drive for a few miles to get the fuel stabalizer into the entire fuel system.
4-fill all five tires to 60psi
5-run it through the automatic carwash, include a underbody wash.
6-condition the leather
7-park it with the wheels straight and nose out so that you can jump it when you get back if need be.
8-hook up either a battery tender or a battery charger with a trickle charge mode.
9-cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood into quarters, put four jack stands under the car's axles to keep the weight of the car off of the tires to prevent flat spots and prevent damage to the sidewall if the tire goes flat while in storage.
10-lock it and leave nothing of value inside.

Use the plywood under the jack stands, unless you are parking it on cement, support the car with the axles not the frame.
Make sure all the windows are rolled up and the parking brake is off.
If you descide to disconnect the battery instead of using a battery tender be prepared for problems with your keyless entry and car alarm. After long term no power the alarm and keyless entrycan loose its "memory", and digital odometers can go to zero,it is rare but it can happen.
Try not to park under any trees, maple leaves are acidic and will eat paint if left on to long, tree branches fall and break windows and trees topple and crush cars and houses.
DO NOT start it once in awhile to "keep it working", that is the fastest way to a new exhaust and increased water inside the crankcase.
And remember that itis just a car.

Spike pretty well covered it.
How long is it going to need to be stored? Will someon be able to start and run it for 10 minutes once a month, if not disconnect the battery which may fail anyway from going flat over time.
