G4 is cool, but you're going to pay extra for it.

I guess it would come down to your preference of color. Strictly based on looks between a well kitted out Kalahari and a well kitted out G4, I'd probably go for the Kalahari, because I've never seen one (in person) that has all the bells, whistles and decals. But I am biased

BUT if it was an '04 G4, I'd be all over that because the Kalahari's don't have CDL, and don't have the ability to add the linkage because of the neutered '02-'03 T-case.

so the one from the Original Post doesn't look like it has the roof rack or the ladder, aren't those along with the special Kalahari grill guard standard features?

Damn, that white with the black on the hood looks GOOOOOOD!

Yes, they were standard, but many Rover owners removed the rack to be able to fit the truck in the garage and then the rack never found its way back onto the truck. With regard to the grill guard, who knows.

what about running boards? i thought i read somewhere that running boards were among the standard features. The grill guard and ladder are standard.

The guy I bought mine from said the dealers would take the accessories and decals off because potential buyers didn't want the extras or didn't want to be so "flashy"......never understood that logic with the YELLOW ones, taking off decals doesn't make it not yellow

So from what I can tell from the spec sheet for the Kalahari's are that from the factory they came with :

-"Saudi Spec" Bumper and Grille
-Safari Gard rock sliders
-Gray Typhoon Wheels
-Ladder
-Hood Blackout
-Grille Guard with Safari Lights
-Tech interior (basically black leather with cloth insert down the center)
-Special vehicles emblem on the rear gate, and special vehicles build plate riveted to the radiator shroud.

...as far the SD roof rack seems to have been an "option" instead of standard. Mine didn't have one and there aren't any marks in the paint or on the gutters indicating that it ever had one.

The kicker to telling if it's a clone or not would be the badge (not a decal) on the rear gate and the plate under the hood.
