Default 2 amigos, not 3

I've recently bought a 2001 disco 2 and am working out the kinks. After head gaskets and head rebuilds, it's now running strong. But now I need to work out the other kinks.

My one issue is that I have 2 lights, traction control and hill descent control warning. There is no ABS light. When I first turn the key to on and my bulb check runs for those few seconds, ABS is illuminated(along with every other light on the dash) so it's not a bulb issue.

The part that's really blowing my mind is that the traction control works! From a standing start with one side on ice, the two wheels on that side spin freely until the brake kicks in and forces power to the other side. The truck then pulls away.

I haven't tested HDC yet. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what your issue is, but those are also the two lights that show up when you start your vehicle after the CDL is locked. Not sure if it's related but in 01 the previous owner could have engaged the CDL.

Thank you for the response.

I checked and the CDL isn't engaged. I also cut the blue/black wire as shown here:
www.discovery2.co.uk/Factory Diff Lock

I tried again and no luck, the same 2 lights are on. According to the guide, this wire being cut would eliminate the problem. Also, the guide states that the traction control, hill descent warning, AND the ABS lights would all be on. In my case, the ABS isn't illuminated.

I have also tested hill descent control now and it doesn't function.

Have you hooked up the ABS Amigo Box for detailed codes?

ABS Amigo V1 USB - Discovery II - RENTAL - Rentals - Tools

I bought a 2001 Disco II and it had all three lights on but it came with receipts for extensive brake work. I rented the Amigos box, plugged it in which resets all the lights, looked at the error codes and it said none! I'll be damned they have not come back on, the lights just needed to be reset!

You do have the gear box in low while testing the hill descent right?

Thank you very much. Looks like I'll be renting one of these. I just can't believe that with all of that, the abs light still isn't on.

And yes, the vehicle was in low while testing. I have several Rovers, this is just the first time I needed to post.

Thank you all very much for the input
