Default 2 inch lift ... Do I need to change drive shafts or brake lines

Really would like just a 1 inch lift but there is no such kit so looks like I'll do the terrafirma medium kit. Will the STD brake lines and driveshaft be ok? Any unwanted side effects?
really want to keep stock ride and handling

It wonders alittle but don’t expect it to handle perfect, I lift in the future add a steering stabilizer , I have 275/65r18’s so maybe if you had 16” wheels with wider tires it might handle better , or wheel spacers

The suspension can be a tad on the rough side but I knew that going in because I wanted to add a winch or steel bumpers , and I sometimes load it up for a trip

You can certainly get 1inch aluminum blocks to install under the coil springs. Lift wise a 2inch lift will probably cause your front drive shaft to contact the lower frame support at full flex. I personally remove them for two reasons, #1 drive shaft can hit it at full flex & #2 “if” the front drive shaft breaks (bad u-joint) it has a better chance of falling to the ground vs falling down onto the frame support & then deflecting off straight into your transmission.

Like with any new set of coils (stock height or lifted) it will sit higher at first until the coils settle after the first 500-1,000 miles. I highly recommend getting an alignment after installing any lift. A D2 shouldn’t really handle bad after a lift, if it does something isn’t right. I’ve lifted a lot of D2’s and handling has never got worse.

Brake line wise you should be okay if you go off road without disconnecting your F/R swaybars however 50mm brake lines are cheap, and installing front ABS sensors on the back is also like 20.00 for the pair. I personally would rather spend the $$$ on extended brake lanes & front ABS sensors vs rip that stuff out on the trail & be stuck with no brakes!

Anyone know the cheapest source for stock height springs? I was going to do the lift only because the terrafirma 2 inch kit with shocks and springs was way cheaper than buying the same shocks and regular springs

Aluminum 1inch spacers all around shouldn't be more than $100.00 shipped if that's all you really want. If you get the 2inch MD TF lift it will settle and be perfect for 265/75R16 tires. TF also sells a Light Duty kit (more like stock), but you'd have to message Lucky8 as it's not a commonly ordered set of coils vs the MD/HD lift kits.

If you were closer I'd invite you out to drive my 3 lifted D2's. One is on TF 2inch MD springs/shocks, one is on 2inch OME HD coils, 1inch aluminum spacers, and OME shocks, while the 3rd D2 is on RTE HD Springs and TF shocks. They all ride and handle excellent, like I said earlier if a lifted D2 handles poorly then something wasn't either done properly or they never bothered to get it aligned.

I think it may be that my original suspension was saggy and bouncy, I’m used to my 2018 air suspension grand Cherokee so I guess I may be exaggerating the rough ride of the discovery , I think the md tf kit is pretty good all around I’m just curious if it’s enough for a full arb bumper roof rack and rear steel bumper
