XYZ switch is bad.
Google it, expensive part, you can remove yours and clean it, grease it, seal it and put it back.
If that does not fix it then you need a new one.

Drove to neighboring town(a lot of power still off from Sandy) for a code scan. Rover ran perfectly as it was warmed up...........Came up with these 4 codes: P1884 (no definition) ; P0174 (Bank 2 lean) ;P0171 (Bank 1 lean) and P0123 (Throttle position sensor circut) All engine warning lights are out when Rover is started up (except service engine light) and go on when Rover starts acting up (shifting up and down with fluctuating rpms)usually within 2 minutes. When the truck gets warmed up runs perfectly ??? The service engine light goes on and of intermittently. No never towed with my Rover. Reads 13.86 volts charging

fix the tps
inspect the plug reseat it

or replace tps
or inspect wiring

tps may be used by transmission throttle position sensor

you cant go thru life with a bad tps

Cleaned battery cables and connections today and all warning lights went out.Ordered a new TPS and Mass air flow censor (Thanks Mike) and will install upon arrival. Will have codes read after that and will keep all informed on my progress! Thanks to all for their help especially Disco Mike as always .I do appreciate everyones input!

I looked at the TPS this morning. It is in a tight spot and I cannot really see the wiring socket coming out of the bottom that the Rave says you are supposed to remove (pull out) first before removing the two screws holding the TPS to the engine.Does this plug just pull out ,or do you have to depress something to unclip it.I cant see too well in there and I do not want to break anything especially the wiring harness clip that goes into the TPS

Well yesterday my TPS and Mass Airflow sensor arrived from Land Rover .Replaced both parts and the Rover is 100% again ! Codes are clear and all Warning lights are out.The hardest part of the job was finding a wrench for those 2 small bolts holding the TPS on . 5mm too small and 6mm too large.Had a tiny adjustable wrench that worked and all is well. Thanks again to all for their help.
