2002 land rover disco 2 is leaking coolant from the exhaust manifold
 

Does this mean my head gasket is blown? Because coolant shouldn't even be getting in there.

Also there is quite a bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust aswell as were its leaking.

Your HG is toast.

There are a bazillion threads on here outlining what's entailed with a HG replacement if you're going to DIY.

If you're going to take it somewhere, I'd suggest trying to find a Rover specialist in your neck of the woods.

How do you know for sure if it's the HG?

Like the engine sounds fine its just that there is more then normal white smoke coming from the exhaust and is leaking coolant like crazy.

90% of the time thats a head gasket fail.

It could be a few other things but the main point right now is stop driving it and NEVER EVER overheat it.

Basic troubleshooting skills need to be employed either by you or someone you trust with your money... er truck...er money...

As mentioned above find a local independent Land Rover specialist. Not a foreign car shop and not the dealer. Not your wifes friends boyfriend who is a VW tech.

Some detail is usually appreciated around here... such as warning lights, codes if any, year, milage, previous issues, etc.

It has the engine light on, it has 131731 miles on it. I did get the head gasket done about 2 years ago. About 10 months ago i had the water pump done, fan, ancillary belt done which all costs me in total $1823.33. It was done at the land rover dealership in Calgary.


This is what it says on my statement....

Checked coolant leak - water is broken, do est. Renew water pump, fan assembly, drive belt (coolant pump pullerty is not order in but can re-used it) re-pressure test coolant system - no leak at this time

Total are 4.0 hours per EST

This truck in total from when i bought it costs me around 10 grand in repairs.

At this point in Land Rover ownership one usually stops going to the dealer and takes matters into their own hands. Or at the very least, their own wallets.

That being said you should find an independent land rover specialist who works on nothing but land rovers. not the dealer.

Otherwise taking matters into your own hands entails having a code reader or access to one, A code reader would tell you why the CEL is on. You can even get the codes read at most auto parts stores. Knowing what the issues are before paying someone to tell you and assessing if you have the tools and skills to do the job yourself is the way to go. Often second and third opinions are required.

Did you have the heads machined and block decked when the HG's were done?
