guessing, guessing and guessing. put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it and see what you have really for pressure in psi hot and cold.

Just wanted to give everybody an update. After a week at the mechanic, we replaced the Oil Pump, gaskets for about every stinkin' thing - now running Shell Rotella T 15W-40 and a Napa 1068 filter.

New oil pump fixed it all.

Just installed a MotoRad 180 degree thermostat yesterday as well. She's running great! *Knocks on wood*

"Why not remove the oil , hook up the mechanical gauge, and know for sure what is happening? Spec is 10+ at idle, and 50+ at 2500 rpm hot. Above 90F spec is use an oil that ends in "w40" or higher".

Yep, if mechanic did not do a mechanical oil PSI test, was he skeered of what he might find???? After all that work, and I bet it was a lot more than the $112 for the pump and front cover gasket kit; without the test you still just know that oil PSI is above 7.

Default New oil pump, Thanks for update

111,000 miles, and a new oil pump needed; Why am I not surprised? They don't last forever, my friends! 180 deg F. thermostat too, is a very good thing. My inline 180 thermostat performs beautifully!
