245 vs 265/75r16? Rub? Power? Flex?
My goal is to have a truck that can handle difficult, rocky trails but still ride nicely on the commute. I'm planning on a 2" OME HD lift (or maybe the 781s).
I've been cracked-out searching the gazillion threads on tire size, but I'm still torn on 245/75 vs 265/75r16...and have some questions for those running these size tires.
1. On the 265/75, should I expect any rubbing at all? Will I have to trim the front bumper or rear mudflap? I'm talking on the trail, under flex. I'm fine with adjusting the steering stops, but I don't like the idea of gaining lots of flex with the OME, only to stuff the wheel well and have rubbing when I'm pushing it!
2. On the 265/75, do you actually notice the power loss? To a point that it affects your ability to climb/crawl in 4 lo? I'm okay with a loss in MPG, but think I might prefer a smaller tire over a weaker engine.
3. Does the 245/75 look silly with a 2" lift? Got pics?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't trimmed anything. The only rubbing I have is with the wheels hitting the radium arms at a full turn. Offroading I haven't had them rub anything. I think that even after I get some disconnects they will stuff fine with no rubbing. As for the power, I did notice it wasn't as peppy as it used to be. When you throw it in low and are crawling around there is still plenty of power. Overall I am very happy with the 265s. I like the wider tire look over the 245s.
